Leiden-DIKTI, Beasiswa S3 Universitas Leiden

Tersedia beasiswa bagi dosen dan calon dosen yang akan mengambil kuliah S3 di Belanda. Beasiswa Leiden-DIKTI ditujukan untuk semua program S3 yang ditawarkan oleh Universitas Leiden dengan jangka waktu maksimum 48 bulan.

Batas akhir pendaftaran untuk beasiswa ini yaitu tanggal 1 Maret, dan dibagi menjadi 2 periode, yaitu tanggal 1 Maret 2012 untuk periode pertama dan tanggal 1 Maret 2013 untuk periode ke 2.

Adapun beasiswa yang diberikan adalah sebagai berikut :
1. Uang saku : €1005,- per bulan;
2. Asuransi : €800 per tahun
3. Tunjangan buku : €500 per tahun;
4. Tunjangan pertama datang: €1000 euro (hanya sekali);
5. Tiket internasional: 1 tiket pulang pergi;
6. Tunjangan penulisan desertasi: €500 euro (hanya sekali);
7. Tunjan program spesial: €500 Euro (hanya sekali);
8. Uang kuliahf €10,000 per tahun, sesuai dengan yang dibebankan oleh Universitas Leiden
9. (Bagi pendaftar program budaya: jika diperlukan untuk mengikuti kuliah persiapan maka hal ini akan dibiayai penuh oleh Leiden)

Persyaratan beasiswa

■Pelamar adalah dosen pada universitas negeri atau swasta di Indonesia; atau calon dosen untuk salah satu program studi sebagai berikut: pertanian, tehnik, ilmu kedokteran dan kebidanan, ilmu pendidikan, seni dan budaya, ilmu olahraga, manajemen bencana, pendidikan kejuruan dan pendidikan anak, manajemen pendidikan tinggi, bahasa regional dan internasional.
■Pelamar telah menerima surat penerimaan tanpa syarat dari seorang supervisor di Univeristas Leiden;
■Pelamar telah mempunyai gelar S2 (atau setara);
■Pada saat pendaftaran, umur pelamar tidak lebih dari 50 tahun;
■Pasangan suami istri yang bekerja pada bidang keilmuan yang sama tidak diperbolehkan untuk melamar pada universitas yang sama dan / atau dibimbing oleh promotor/pembimbing yang sama.
■Mempunyai kemampuan berbahasa Inggris yang cukup: IELTS = 6.5 atau setara dengan TOEFL 570 paper-based / 230 computer-based.

Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship Competition at Columbia University

The Committee on Global Thought’s annual post-doctoral fellowship competition opens on September 15, 2011, for positions for the 2012-2013 academic year.

The post-doctoral fellowship of the Committee on Global Thought at Columbia University brings together an innovative group of interdisciplinary researchers from around the world. The Fellowship gives emerging scholars the opportunity to work with distinguished faculty and provides a space for collaborative research and publication.

Global Thought encourages interdisciplinary, transnational research. Scholars from any discipline may apply, provided that they successfully indicate how their work will contribute to Global Thought’s research and teaching agenda.

Currently, some of the Committee’s research interests include

Requirements

Fellows are expected to:

  • Teach one undergraduate or graduate course each academic year. The course may be either of their own design or as specified by the Committee. When teaching, fellows are required to hold weekly office hours.
  • Participate in planning and execution of research workshops, conferences, events and curricular initiatives.
  • Present their individual research projects.

Eligibility

Candidates will be considered only if:

  • They received their first doctorate from a recognized university no earlier than August 1, 2010.
  • They will be able to provide certification of their doctorate by August 1, 2012. Those who have not completed their degree at the time of application must provide a statement from an adviser citing the expected date of completion.
  • They do not hold or have not held a tenure or tenure-track position.
  • They can fluently speak, publish, and teach in English.
  • They submit a completed application.International applicants are encouraged to apply. If selected, Columbia University will sponsor the appropriate visa.

Benefits

Fellows will receive:

  • An annual salary of $55,000, which includes health insurance and other standard benefits.
  • Access to Columbia University libraries and computer resources.
  • Shared office space.
  • Eligibility for additional funding for special research projects.

Nanyang President’s Graduate Scholarships, Singapore 2012

The Nanyang President`s Graduate Scholarship (NPGS) is a competitive and prestigious scholarship scheme designed to encourage outstanding graduates or final-year students to take their first step towards a leading research career by studying for a doctoral degree programme (PhD) at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), one of Asia`s leading research universities. Funding will be provided for up to 4 years for NPGS awardees.

Number of awards available
Up to 30 NPGS awards will be made available in each Academic Year. Successful candidates will be known as Nanyang President`s Graduate Scholars.

Minimum qualifications
To qualify for a NPGS award, you must have a First Class Honours degree or equivalent at Bachelor`s level and applicants should also demonstrate excellent research abilities. The PhD research will be in any topic agreed between you and your chosen NTU supervisor within the research activities of NTU. At the time of application, if you have not yet completed your undergraduate degree programme, you will need to furnish documentation from your university that you are on track to get a First Class Honours degree or equivalent. Failure to do so will disqualify you from the NPGS award, in which case you may be considered for other NTU PhD research scholarships, subject to meeting the selection criteria.

Qualification
During the first year, you will be expected to take relevant courses and to work towards passing the qualifying examination. In the event that this qualification is not met, there will be no conversion to a Masters degree for the NPGS awardees.

Stipend and allowances
The NPGS award terms are:

  1. Monthly stipend of S$3200
  2. Full support of tuition fees
  3. Conference allowance for two major overseas conferences in the 4-year period
  4. One-time IT allowance of S$1500
  5. Annual grant of S$500 for journal subscription or book purchase
  6. Thesis preparation allowance
  7. Priority for subsidized campus accommodation
Deadline:
Application for AY2012-13 will be open from 1 Oct 2011 to 15 Nov 2011. Applicants who are interested to apply for the August 2012 or January 2013 intake should apply during this period.

Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme

Hong Kong PhD Fellowship, established by The Research Grants Council (RGC) of the HKSAR, aims at recruiting the best and brightest students in the world to pursue PhD study in Hong Kong.

The Fellowship provides a monthly stipend of HK$20,000 (~US$2,600), and conference and research-related travel allowance of HK$10,000 (~US$1,300) per year for the awardees for a maximum of three years. In addition, Fellowship recipients at CityU will be awarded the “Chow Yei Ching School of Graduate Studies Entrance Scholarship”, which covers students' first year tuition and on-campus hostel accommodation fees.

For CityU nominees not selected by RGC for the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship, they will be eligible to compete for CityU’s “Chow Yei Ching School of Graduate Studies PhD Fellowship”, which offers a studentship that is equivalent to the stipend amount offered by the RGC for the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HK$20,400; ~2,615).

Asia Journalism Fellowship 2012

Eligibility

Applicants should have at least five years of full-time working experience as journalists (not including as student journalists) and possess potential for leadership and management within the profession or organisation.

Applicants should be residing in Asia. Preference is given to those working for Asian media organisations.

Applicants can be working in any medium — print, radio, television or online.

Journalists working in non-English media are welcome to apply, but must show proficiency in English through a telephone interview, as English is the working language of the programme.

Applications from journalists in full-time positions must be accompanied by a letter of support from employers, stating that the applicant would be released for the full period of the fellowship, from 25 February to 20 May 2012. Freelancers are welcome to apply if they are primarily engaged in news or current affairs journalism.

International Doctoral Program In Informatics Graduate School Of Informatics Kyoto University 2012

The Japanese Government(Monbukagakusho) offers a scholarship in selected fields, called the Special Scholarship for International Doctoral Programs. The Graduate School of Informatics, Kyoto University will accept eight new Ph.D. course students under this program from the year 2012. This program has several attractive features—for example, the official language will be English(Japanese language skill will not be required); and the fact that all tuition fees will be waived. Interested applicants should carefully read the rules and conditions in the guidelines for admission before submitting their applications. Selections will be by Kyoto University, with successful students recommended to the Monbukagakusho as candidates for the scolarship.
